You may be aware that the resort of Courchevel is NOT made up of ONE town but a collection of villages built at different levels. Courchevel 1650 aka Moriond is among the 05 villages that make up the resort of Courchevel. It’s separated from the rest of the resort sitting on the other side of the valley from the main body of Courchevel and offers affordable accommodation, although its dominated by high-rise hotels, apartment blocks and is somewhat incongruous when compared to the carefully constructed and natural villages and make up the rest of Courchevel. That said it does offer far cheaper accommodation that in some cases backs straight on to the pistes, and there is a friendly vibe to the place, with a few good bars in the centre of town like Rokcy’s and bubble bar. You can also find some In resort restaurants like the Bistrot Le C for mouth-watering French cuisine or Le Petit Savoyard for Savoyard specialties and wood-oven pizzas. Continue up to the top of the road and you will reach its fashionable sister resort Courchevel 1850. Although, Moriond is Less chic than Courchevel 1850, the small village of Courchevel 1650 offers great and the same access to the vast ski area or the world’s largest ski area.

From 1550 towards 1650 you will see on your left huge new indoor water park named Aqua motion. This will tell you that you arrived at Courchevel 1650. Courchevel 1650, aka, Courchevel Moriond set on the main road who pass through town at the centre. There you can find All sorts of shops, restaurants and bars. It has a huge new watersport center called aqua motion (See below for the video clip) Courchevel 1650 also have a great toboggan run, named “Moriond Racing”.

This lively village Courchevel 1650 is popular with the Brits and younger holidaymakers.  Don’t expect the après ski scene to be like Meribel, the other three valleys ski resort. If you are looking for an affordable ski holiday with a decent après setting Pretty Courchevel 1650 will not disappoint you, regardless of your age. So, if you are not interested to meet a celebrity or if you are not looking for Louis Vuitton or Prada shops of Courchevel 1850 but searching an incredible ski area with inexpensive Chalet accommodation, then Courchevel 1650 is the right place to be.
